Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV) Study is a diagnostic procedure often performed alongside Electromyography (EMG). It measures the speed and strength of electrical signals as they travel through nerves, using small electrodes taped to the skin. The test helps detect the presence, location, and extent of nerve damage or dysfunction, and is commonly used in evaluating conditions like peripheral neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, or nerve injuries. During the test, nerves are gently stimulated through electrode patches, and the response is recorded and interpreted by specialists.
